Friendly game.
Moore 2nds 26 v 27 Broughton Park 4th

In a close fought game we had 2 teams with very different styles. Moore essentially a vets team wanted to play set piece Rugby and maul all day, ably led by their excellent scrum half. Park in contrast played a loose ruck based game lead by our excellent back row who competed well on the ground and also got excellent support from a committed front 5.

With plenty of quick ball our half backs and centres made line breaks at will. At half time we went in 14:12 down having faced a strong wind and 2 players harshly in the sin bin (Eddie +Kez). As the game progressed tries were traded and going into the last 10 mines we trailed by 2 points.

Hero of the day and team captain Chris Hole got the team into good field position and from a ruck stepped back to the 40m line and scored the decisive drop goal. There were excellent performances all over the park with Josh returned from nose surgery getting through endless tackles, James getting up the noses of the opposition and ref, but Laurie had an immense game winning ball after ball on the deck making big tackles and carrying the ball with real menace.

Try scorers were Kez(plus a trip to the bin) Chris(Team hero) Alex(1st try) and Liam who was excellent at 2nd centre.

Crewe next Saturday will be a similar game. Bring it on!!
